Parking

During Commencement Weekend all appropriate parking lots will be open. UCLA Parking Services will staff lots according to ceremony times and locations.

Pre-paid Commencement Parking Permits are available for purchase ($11 per permit) in the Parking & Commuter Services Lobby. The UCLA Central Ticket Office will sell Pre-paid Commencement Parking Permits beginning in May ($11 per permit). The UCLA Central Ticket Office is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Traffic Tips

UCLA wants your Commencement experience to be perfect from beginning to end. Depending upon the day and time of the event, the streets surrounding the campus can be quite congested. To help you avoid traffic congestion in the busy Westwood area, we would like to offer the following suggestions:

405 (San Diego) Freeway: When exiting campus, avoid using the Sunset Boulevard on-ramps to the 405 (San Diego) Freeway. Instead, travel south from the campus using Westwood Boulevard, Hilgard Avenue (to Westwood Boulevard), Gayley Avenue or Veteran Avenue to either Santa Monica or Wilshire Boulevard, turn right (westbound) and proceed to the 405.

10 (Santa Monica) Freeway: Take Sunset or Wilshire Boulevard EAST from the campus, turn right (southbound) on Beverly Glen, right again (westbound) at Olympic Boulevard, then left (southbound) on Overland Avenue. Enter the 10 Freeway from Overland Avenue.

If you have special parking needs (VIP Parking, Departmental Recharge parking, etc.) for your Commencement event, please make sure that you call the Parking Services Special Events Office at x51286, at least 3 weeks prior to your event so that plans to accommodate your needs can be arranged.
